“We worked with Julie as our buyer’s agent for the purchase of our first home. Julie came highly recommended by two of my colleagues, and we could not have been happier with our experience having her as our realtor. As first-time homebuyers, we had a lot to learn about searching for a home and making an offer to purchase, and felt that we needed an agent who could educate us about the process. Julie was a perfect fit for this need; from our first meeting, through home showings, writing offers, closing on our purchase, and even after closing, Julie did a fantastic job of explaining each step of the process in detail. She was very thorough going over the details of writing an offer, both in terms of the practical aspects (“how do I do it”) as well as considerations for how certain terms may be more or less attractive to a seller who is reviewing options. She took time to answer all of our questions, and never made us feel rushed or feel like we were asking bad questions. She was also an expert resource when it came to choosing financing, educating us on what to look for in a lender, encouraging us to shop around, and not pushing us in any particular direction. Overall, she made the entire process fun and about picturing what we wanted, rather than a stressful “competition” to beat out other homebuyers.

In particular, we felt that Julie really helped us to refine what we were looking for, which resulted in a house purchase that we could not be more thrilled with. She has a well-established process for showing homes, asking for feedback, and refining search criteria based on that feedback. It not only helped her identify what we were looking for, but also helped us learn what we wanted. Julie was always extremely responsive and accommodating for scheduling house showings. Although she is an independent realtor, and not affiliated with a large real estate firm, she was always readily available to answer questions or meet with us. Sometimes, it felt like we were her only clients because of how responsive she was. She was also great about following up with us on “to-do” items or next steps during the purchase process.

In the end, we feel that the house we ended up with is a perfect fit for our needs, with a layout and style that matches what we had envisioned, a fantastic location, and well within our budget expectations. This is an impressive feat in the current highly competitive market, which favors sellers. Julie did a great job educating us about how to make a competitive offer while staying within budget, and how to have realistic expectations. Because of the up-front education, when it came time to write the offer (which was ultimately accepted) on our house, we felt 110% comfortable with what we were putting forward. We never felt any pressure coming from Julie to “bid higher” or take on more risk in an offer than we were comfortable with. Overall, we felt that Julie took her responsibility to act as our representative very seriously, and because of this we in turn felt completely confident in trusting her feedback, and trusting her to represent our interests to the seller.
