Baycreek

Neighborhood residents find a lot to like about this central city community. Being bordered by water on three sides creates the sense of outdoor living. Some of the strongest friendships have been formed fishing Wingra Creek, hiking Turville Woods or swimming at Bernie's Beach. There is an unusually strong sense of community with long term residents helping newcomers settle in.

Dudgeon-Monroe

One of Madison's most desirable, trendy, and hip places to live is an understatement. The Monroe Street corridor is scaled to pedestrians with neighborhood shops (coffee, ice cream, ethnic dining) in historic storefronts. A fine art center, galleries, and neighborhood jazz fest (Jazz in the Park) are venues for the artsy folks. Cozy, two-story homes with front porches line the quiet residential streets.

Hill Farms

Just minutes by car from the University, downtown, and beltline, the University Hill Farms neighborhood is situated in a desirable and convenient location. The University Hill Farms neighborhood was developed as a complete community, including residential housing, schools, parks, churches, shopping, and office space on 487 acres of land formerly owned by the University of Wisconsin.

Midvale Heights

The convenience of suburban living within minutes of downtown Madison is hard to beat. One of Madison's oldest communities, Midvale Heights was originally settled in the 1850s. Today, Midvale Heights includes more than 1,300 homes and approximately 1,500 living units spread over 616 acres. The area's long history has produced a wide selection of first class antique homes, featuring two-story Victorian architecture and large luxurious properties.

Nakoma

Nakoma was planned in 1915 as a picturesque suburb in the country with winding roads, its own water system, its own private bus service and substantial lands set aside for parks, tennis courts and a golf course. It was one of the most prestigious neighborhood's of its time, as it is today. Some of the finest examples of Colonial, Greek, Tudor Revival, French Provincial, and Prairie style homes are located among Nakoma neighborhood's 800 homes.

Regent Street

Located close to the University, its curvilinear streets and beautiful vistas attracted families of university professors and other business people. Some of Madison's most architecturally significant Queen Anne, prairie style and period revival houses were built here. The Regent-Allen Neighborhood Commercial District has a cluster of neighborhood-oriented shops (coffee shop, food co-op, hair saloon) and artistic retail galleries and shops.

Schenk-Atwood

The soul of Madison lives in the Schenk-Atwood-Starkweather-Yahara Neighborhood, an unassuming old blue-collar district re-imagined as a vibrant haven for many of the funkier and more enterprising elements of the city's creative class. Bounded on three sides by water and on the fourth by a bike bath and East Washington Avenue, this part of town is at the same time sedate and festive. It is walkable, rich in its appreciation of quirky gusto, and encompasses a diverse yet cohesive neighborhood that invests in its quality of life.

Sunset Village

Sunset Village is a cozy neighborhood on the near west side of Madison, nestled on tree-lined streets with rolling hills and panoramic views. Most of the houses were built in the 1930s and 1940s. A popular neighborhood in Madison because of our proximity to downtown, the UW Madison campus, shopping and dining areas.

University Heights

This hilltop community features large, impressive homes clustered just below the summit, while smaller houses were built in the north portion of the development. The earliest houses in the neighborhood are examples of the Shingle and the Queen Anne styles. Later homes exhibited Period Revival, Craftsman and Prairie designs. As one of Madison's leading neighborhoods, it features many architecturally important residences including Louis Sullivan's Bradley House, Frank Lloyd Wright's Gilmore House, George Fred Keck's Morehouse House.

Westmorland

Westmorland is a friendly community on Madison's West side. Nearby Glenway and Odana Golf Courses, arboretum, zoo and parks provide many recreational opportunities. Tree–lined streets, a variety of architectural styles and affordability make our neighborhood ideal for both young families and older individuals. Westmorland Neighborhood is home to seven Lustron houses, prefabricated porcelain steel houses constructed between 1949 and 1950, which are still part of our neighborhood's rich history.

Vilas

With Edgewood Campus and University of Wisconsin-Madison on our edges, the Vilas Neighborhood has reaped the benefits of the artistic, fresh, lively, intellectual atmosphere created by the mix of academics, professionals, and students. The neighborhood-oriented commercial corridor, Monroe Street, has locally-owned shops and services. With architectural styles ranging from Victorian and Queen Anne, to Craftsman, Georgian Revival and Tutor, the Vilas Neighborhood is desirable to those wanting to rent or own in a historic area.

Middleton

Get active in Middleton, home to over 50 parks and natural areas and some of the region’s best cross-country skiing and winter fat biking trails. Established in 1832 as a fur trading post along the northern shore of Lake Mendota near what is now Mendota County Park, the Township of Middleton was created in 1848 and became a city in 1963. Now featuring a vibrant downtown with a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and breweries, enjoy relaxing after an active day in the beautiful outdoors.
