About Julie Colmar
Julie Colmar specializes in Residential Real Estate in the Madison area, where she first arrived at UW Madison to complete her bachelor’s degree. Although she has lived in other cities over the years, she returned to Madison both for work and to complete her master’s degree. Now she is happy to have made Madison her home.
Julie grew up in the real estate world in the Chicago area with parents who owned a local brokerage and several investment properties. She experienced firsthand the importance of location in a home purchase and how home improvements can increase the value of a property. She even attended real estate conventions with her father as a teenager.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, Julie spent a decade teaching in public schools in several states and sought her own adventures abroad.
Given her formal education in teaching and social work, combined with her life-long immersion in the real estate world, Julie brings a variety of experiences to her clients. She understands that all buyers and sellers need education on the local real estate market and spends the time necessary to teach her clients the process and update them on the current marketplace. Another important step in the process is to align the client goals with the best real estate strategy. Since buying and selling real estate is a complex transaction, Julie understands that using a variety of strategies will help her clients save time and money, while enduring the least amount of stress during the process. Her teaching, social work and real estate background all keep Julie sensitive to the processes and issues involved with every aspect of selling and purchasing real estate.
Julie began working on a real estate team in a large real estate franchise company where she represented clients buying and selling large farms, vacant lots, new construction, downtown condos and all types of real estate throughout Columbia, Jefferson, Rock and Dane County. From there, Julie decided to focus her skills and moved to be part of a boutique real estate firm where she was able to specialize in smaller communities within Madison and the surrounding areas.
After all of this varied experience, Julie is now the Broker and Owner of Lifestyle Realty, where she focuses on full service real estate services for her clients. Julie’s goal is to have deep and meaningful relationships with clients and her community in order to help her clients accomplish their goals. She employs a variety of successful strategies to ensure that sellers net the highest possible amount within their ideal timeline, while also helping buyers find their new home in the community.
Julie’s broad knowledge base gives her a valuable edge in providing clients with top-level advice. As a Certified Negotiation Expert, Julie is skilled at navigating complex negotiations and guiding her clients confidently and professionally through the process of purchasing and/or selling their homes. This has led to long-term personal relationships with her clients. Julie successfully completed her Pricing Strategy Certification so that she can help her sellers successfully meet their goals when setting a list price. Julie is a Second Home Specialist as well, which has benefited many clients who wish to purchase a second home in either the Madison area or in rural Wisconsin. Upon completing certifications in Property Management and Buying and Selling Investment Properties, she has not only become a real estate investor herself, but enjoys helping clients grow their real estate portfolios.
Julie has strong roots in the Madison community where she is raising her family and pursuing her passion in real estate. She currently lives in the Middleton community with her husband, her three young children and their beloved dog. Julie believes in building a strong community and giving back in many ways. She volunteers in the public schools, loves to promote all the amazing county and city parks and hiking trails, and financially supports local non-profits such as Middleton Outreach Ministry, Second Harvest Food Bank, The Road Home, The United Way of Dane County and The YWCA Madison.
